Hoosier Security, an Indianapolis-based security firm has signed an authorized dealer agreement with Shooter Detection Systems LLC (SDS), a certified and accredited gunshot detection provider. Hoosier Security is now one of the few local, independent security companies to offer shooter detection software.

The Guardian Indoor Active Shooter Detection System from SDS has been installed in schools, airports and buildings worldwide, achieving 20 million hours of operating time with 0% false starts. The system provides a fully automated gunshot detecting mechanism by using its state-of-the-art acoustic gunshot identification software with infrared gunfire flash detection.

Below is a description of how the Guardian System works:
- The system detects gunshots immediately and alerts building occupants and first responders within one second.
- Users are alerted to the location of the shots on a digital map. Simultaneously, text messages and email alerts are sent to building occupants and safety personnel.
- Critical information is relayed to building occupants and safety personnel to ensure control and safety as quickly as possible.
