As we’ve mentioned before, most security systems are sold backwards from parts lists to procurement to implementation. By the time it hits the ground, the original problem has been reduced to “20 cameras” and a vague hope that’s going to be enough. That’s not how we work. The problem you are facing, however, wasn’t created by a missing camera; device counts and part numbers don’t solve problems!
At Hoosier Security, we flip the process. We start with the problem you’re trying to solve, then work backward into the technology that will get the job done efficiently, reliably, and without creating new ones.
A Space Built for Real-World Problem Solving
Our Security Experience Center wasn’t designed as a showroom; it’s a customer-facing problem-solving lab. The tech inside it isn’t there to impress; it’s there to work together. From enterprise-grade access control to video analytics, intrusion detection, communications, and AI-driven automations, every element in the space is tested, integrated, and proven to show a complete response strategy.
You’ll see solutions from Verkada, Motorola Solutions (including Avigilon ALTA and Unity as well as RAVE, WAVE, and HALO), Axis, Bosch, Teledyne FLIR, Brivo, and others, each one evaluated not just on features, but on function in the real world.
We Ask Tough Questions Before You Have To
Before any system or manufacturer makes it into a quote, or even into our lab, we ask six core questions:
- What real-world problems does this claim to solve?
- Does the solution itself create new issues?
- Is the manufacturer’s reputation aligned with our standards?
- Does the price reflect the true value of the outcome?
- Can it be deployed and supported reliably?
- How else can it be used to reduce liability, cost, or operational drag for our clients?
Then we test it. Not just once, but in a range of scenarios. If it can’t handle the less common cases, it won’t handle the ones that matter.
We Don’t Follow Trends, We Outlast Them
You won’t find us rushing to bolt on every shiny new device. That’s not loyalty, it’s recklessness. Because our technicians are certified and trained deeply in our chosen platforms, we’re selective about what we bring in. But we’re also forward-looking.
We continuously test emerging technologies in-house, from drone detection to advanced integrations. Some make the cut. Others don’t. A good example? Despite the market hype, we passed on various concealed weapons detection platforms like EVOLV due to serious concerns around false positives, lack of real-world validation, and the mismatch between promised outcomes and actual client needs.
If a solution stops delivering value to our clients, or if the manufacturer’s direction starts working against your long-term interests, we pull it. Simple as that.
Problem-Solvers, Not Product Pushers
This is what separates us from the firms selling checkbox solutions. We’re not chasing buzzwords, pushing inventory, or handing you a manufacturer’s brochure. We’re designing for your operational outcomes, your budget, and your long-term success.
When you work with Hoosier Security, you’re not buying a pile of parts. You’re investing in a solution born from real-world problem-solving. We don’t recommend what we wouldn’t deploy ourselves, and we don’t deploy anything we haven’t tested. Our own President’s house has had 6 different camera systems in the last 2 years alone!
Because when something fails in the field, feature lists won’t help. But a system built around your problem, supported by a team of people who know what they are doing, will.
